MultiChoice, the South Africa’s digital satellite platform, will launch EuroNews on its DStv platform to more than a million homes. The channel claims to be the only international news channel available on all satellite platforms in Africa. DStv viewers are also able to watch EuroNews in five language versions: English, French, German, Portuguese or Spanish.
Philippe Cayla, Chairman and CEO of EuroNews says in a prepared statement: “We are very proud and excited to broadcast Europe’s first 24hour news channel throughout the whole continent thanks to this agreement with Multichoice, South Africa. EuroNews has concentrated on global expansion for many years and concluding distribution throughout the sub Saharan continent has been a main priority for EuroNews.”
