German broadcasting powerhouse ProSIebenSat.1 recently launched the new cross-channel service 7TV, currently available as an app for smartphones and tablets. Through 7TV customers get access to catch up content from the four large free P7S1 channels for free. For an extra charge, customers can also access live streams of the overall six free P7S1 channels. According to Thies Haase, VP Product of veed analytics, “ProSiebenSat.1 introduces a new aggregation layer for their vast TV content portfolio with 7TV, challenging the established SVoD services as well as existing channel-bound catch up services such as RTL Now”.
