Sony has announced that its Bravia 2010 and 2011 models have been certified by UPC Nederland for usage with a CI Plus module and UPC smart card. So far, UPC has not issued any details about the availability of CI Plus modules for its network in the Netherlands.
UPC Nederland will add five more channels to its digital and HD line-up during the next few days. This marks the arrival of three new HD channels, including BBC HD, on the network.
UPC Nederland has decided to stop its digital Music Zone bouquet, which offers four music video channels as well as a number of non stop audio channels. The channels involved are Slam! TV, Karaoke TV, TMF Pure and Trace Tropical and their futrure distribution on the network remains unclear.

IBC 2010 – AMSTERDAM. UPC Nederland is introducing CI Plus on the Dutch market. The cable op also announced ‘remote recording’ from mobile devices. Speaking at a press conference, UPC Nederland CEO Diederik Karsten said the VOD service is a success with viewers.
UPC Nederland will add the three HD channels from SBS Broadcasting to its line-up on September 1. Later this year, the cabler will also start to offer catch-up programming from the three channels, SBS 6, Net 5 and Veronica.
A court in The Hague has ordered Dutch IPTV provider Tele 2 to correct its advertising campaign, in which it claims to sell cable TV for €5.00. The judge ruled that the operator failed to tell consumers the offer is part of a multi-play deal costing €44.95.
