HbbTV goes second screen

A new second screen app for use with HbbTV will be up and running in Germany within the next few weeks. Public broadcaster ARD and its regional affiliates will use the Second Screen Framework developed by the Insitut für Rundfunktechnik (IRT).

HbbTV launches on terrestrial in Germany

Two German public broadcasters, Bayerische Rundfunk in Bavaria and ZDF, have launched hybrid TV services using the HbbTV standard on digital terrestrial broadcasting across the region, the IRT announced in Munich.

IRT’s Gerhard Stoll dies at 59
