The Digital TV Group (DTG) has launched a new consultation on interoperability and innovation on the DTT platform. Delivering an Interoperable, Efficient, Stable and Innovating Horizontal Digital TV Market, is open to any organisation or individual with an interest in digital television in the UK.
12.30 Update: BSkyB has said the Digital TV Group is the appropriate forum to develop the technical standards for Project Canvas. In its final submission to the BBC Trust consultation Sky maintains the connected TV venture to be an unnecessary intervention in the market.
13:00 Update: The Digital TV Group (DTG) has told the BBC Trust that the joint venture partners in Project Canvas are still failing to engage with the industry.
Project Canvas has announced that Channel 4 and, significantly, internet service provider TalkTalk have signed up to the connected TV project. The six partners, which also include BBC, ITV, Five and BT, will now seek intentions of interest from other potential partners.
