Channel 4 and Talk Talk weave into Canvas

Project Canvas has announced that Channel 4 and, significantly, internet service provider TalkTalk have signed up to the connected TV project. The six partners, which also include BBC, ITV, Five and BT, will now seek intentions of interest from other potential partners.

£115m Canvas open to non-PSB partners

Delays in the launch of Project Canvas have led to a significant increase in the costs surrounding the proposed hybrid platform and associated user interface, according to new figures from the BBC Executive released by the BBC Trust.

European consortium plans Canvas ‘killer’

A consortium including Canal+, France Televisions, and TF1, German research organisation Institut für Rundfunktechnik, satellite operator SES Astra, as well as the software and media solutions providers ANT and OpenTV, have announced the launch of a new pan-European initiative aimed at harmonising the delivery of broadcast and broadband content.
