Bundeskartellamt blocks KDG/TeleColumbus deal

€55m fine for ProSiebenSat.1 and RTL Deutschland

The German cartel commission Bundeskartellamt has slapped fines totalling €55 million on the country’s two major private broadcasters, ProSiebenSat.1 and RTL Deutschland, because of an illegal agreement between the two parties about encryption of their TV signals.
