SES has said that more than 1.5 million households now receive the operator’s encrypted HD+ platform. The number of paying customers stood at about 250,000 at the end of September.

ARD, the umbrella organisation of the German public broadcasters, has announced that its three thematic digital channels EinsFestival, EinsPlus and EinsExtra will start their HD simulcasts in 2014.
