Easy.tv CI module able to receive Arena

Decimus, a subsidiary of Primacom, has announced the discontinuation of its easy.TV programme package with effect from mid-March. But the move does not affect the availability of the Mascom easy.TV Common Interface module, according to the manufacturer.

What’s in a name? Apple decided to call its home entertainment hub AppleTV, since last September known under its codename iTV. What does it do? It brings all iTunes content from your Mac or PC on your widescreen TV, including movies, TV shows, music, photos and podcasts.

Samsung shows Advanced Vestigial Sideband

Samsung Electronics has developed a new technology for digital broadcasting to mobile devices called Advanced Vestigial Sideband (AVS) that enables TV broadcasters to offer digital programming to a wide range of portable devices, including mobile phones, laptop computers, portable media players and car video displays.

Philips brings iPod to portable DVD

At the CES in Las Vegas Philips unveiled two portable DVD players which do not only play back DVDs, but also feature iPod video integration. Philips’ DCP line for portable video entertainment provides a docking station that shows videos from iPod in widescreen.

EuroCableLabs issues first 2007 certifications

EuroCableLabs has issued EuroDOCSIS and EuroPacketCable certification to a series of cable modem products manufactured by Motorola, Netgear and Zhondiantong Digital TV. An Arris cable modem that sports an integrated phone adaptor (E-MTA) received both EuroDOCSIS 2.0 and EuroPacketCable 1.5 certification.
