The incumbent Latvian telco Lattelecom has opted for downloadable conditional access and a DRM solution from Widevine Technologies for its new IPTV platform. Launched in April, it is the first in the Baltic Republics to employ MPEG-4 compression to offer its subscribers HDTV and VOD services. Other technology partners include Optibase, Orca, BitBand and Kreatel.
