German football league opens tender TV coverage

The German football league (Deutsche Fußball Liga/DFL) has opened up the tender process of the TV coverage of the live games and highlights. The monopoly commission Bundeskartelamt has given the green light to open te bidding, but will continue to investigate the matter.

Fox and Paramount day & date in iTunes store

The Fox and Paramount studios have joined the Disney studio in offering day & date releases in the Apple iTunes store for both rental and download, reports Variety. The two studios will offer selected movie titles in the iTunes store on the same day of the DVD release.

Fox to launch first on Unitymedia

ArenaSat will be the first to start showing the new Fox Germany channel on its DTH platform on May 19, as reported earlier in Broadband TV News. The Unitymedia cable nets will follow a day later, on May 20.

Dutch pubcasters limit digi channels

The Dutch public broadcasters confirmed they will cut down the number of digital thematic channels. At the moment, they distribute not less than 17 channels via cable, five of which are also broadcast via DTH.

BET Networks new partner in Xbox Live

EuroNews gets exposure on US MHz Networks

EuroNews and MHz Networks in the US announced today that the European news channel has started airing two news blocks in English on the broadcaster’s national channel MHz Worldview. The 30-minute newscast are being featured at 8:30 AM and again at 2 PM EST each weekday.
