Dragica Pilipovic Chaffey is CEO of Serbia Broadband (SBB). The company is jointly owned by European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBDR) and MidEuropa, a London based European investment fund. The company is the leading provider of broadband internet as well as analogue and digital TV, currently present in 28 cities throughout Serbia and through its satellite platform, Total TV in six countries across South East Europe. Between May 2008 to Q2 2009 Pilipovic Chaffey also served as chairman of the board of SBB.
Between November 1991 and April 2008 Pilipovic Chaffey held a number of posts within the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). This included spells as country director of Serbia and Montenegro and Departmental Director in charge of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, where she managed and supervised 40 bankers and additional staff in five national offices with an annual budget of €300 million.
Between May 1976 and October 1991 Pilipovic Chaffey worked for the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC. She began as Junior Researcher and rose through the ranks to reach senior positions in charge of macroeconomic research.
Pilipovic Chaffey holds an MBA in business and finance, George Washington University, Washington DC (1981) and a BA in Economy, University of Belgrade (1970).
