Spain’s ONO is preparing a number of far-reaching changes in response to the worsening economic climate.
According to the cable operator, it has presented the unions with the outlines of a plan that envisages a reduction in costs, as well as measures to enhance service quality and customer service, as was seen by the recent introduction of internet access at speeds of up to 100Mbps earlier this month.
The operator is also reviewing the positions of 30% of its 4,300 workforce.
The unions oppose any cutbacks in the workforce and are understood to have called for a demonstration on November 5.
