
NHK has reached an agreement with Netflix to release 19 past drama titles worldwide during fiscal 2026.
The titles will be rolled out sequentially and include programming from NHK’s Taiga Drama, Morning Drama Series and Drama 10 strands.
The first 6 titles include Taiga Drama Strategist KANBE, Morning Drama Series Mampuku, and Drama 10 titles Descending Stories: A Life in Rakugo, The Science Club, Tokyo Salad Bowl and My Family.
NHK president Tatsuhiko Inoue announced the agreement at the broadcaster’s monthly press conference in Tokyo.
The Japanese public broadcaster said the deal is designed to strengthen the international reach of its content and support the global promotion of Japanese culture.
NHK said further titles will be added during fiscal 2026, bringing the total available on Netflix to 19.
