The American Football League Europe (AFLE) has appointed DMC Production Germany as its international TV production partner for the league’s inaugural 2026 season, tasking the company with delivering the world feed for all regular‑season and playoff games.
The agreement is designed to guarantee consistent production standards across the new pan‑European competition while establishing a scalable and sustainable model suited to a multi‑country league. AFLE, founded in December 2025, launches its first season this month with teams including Rhein Fire, Vienna Vikings and Berlin Thunder.
DMC Production Germany, part of the Sweden‑based DMC Production Group, will oversee the technical and operational delivery of international broadcasts using a hybrid model that combines on‑site production with centralised workflows.
Across the 2026 season, DMC Production will produce 36 games in France, England, Poland, Italy, Switzerland and Austria. Matches in Duisburg and Berlin will be handled by an additional specialist provider. The core setup is based on a 10‑camera plan, including a super slow‑motion unit and a wireless gimbal camera, with all world‑feed production delivered on‑site via a full OB truck. A test match in Vienna has already been completed and received strong feedback.
DMC Production will manage both the technical and editorial execution of all broadcasts, with the league aiming to capture the pace, intensity and tactical depth of American football within an international standard. Workflows are designed to ensure a premium live experience for viewers.
The production architecture is built for scalability, supporting multiple game days, flexible camera counts from five to 14 units, and modular, location‑independent workflows, according to DMC. The model emphasises cost efficiency and reduced environmental impact through the use of local crews, lower travel requirements and optimised logistics.
“The AFLE 2026 season marks an important milestone for the future of European sports production. With our scalable production approach and the intelligent integration of remote and on‑site workflows, we are shaping a new generation of live broadcasts – consistently high in quality, efficient, and future‑oriented,” said Holger Enßlin, Managing Director of DMC Production Germany.
Moritz Heisler, Managing Director and COO of the AFLE, added: “From day one, we made a commitment to produce our games at the highest possible level. Partnering with DMC Production Germany is a direct expression of that commitment. With a multi‑camera setup that captures every angle of the game and a production model built for the scale and complexity of a pan‑European league, we are setting a new benchmark for American football on television in Europe. We want every fan watching at home to feel the intensity, the speed, and the quality of what is happening on that field. DMC gives us the tools to do exactly that.”
The broadcast rights to show the AFLE games live on free-to-air television in Germany were recently acquired by Sport1.
