DAZN has secured exclusive rights to broadcast Ligue 1 McDonald’s in Spain under a new multi-year agreement with LFP Media.
The deal means Spanish viewers will be able to watch every Ligue 1 match for the first time since the 2017/18 season. At least 2 matches per round will include Spanish-language commentary.
DAZN already holds Ligue 1 rights in markets including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium and Japan. The Spanish agreement means the platform now offers coverage of all five major European football leagues in Spain.
Coverage begins on May 13 with RC Lens against Paris Saint-Germain, which will be available free on DAZN to registered users. The final round will include Olympique Lyonnais v RC Lens, Olympique de Marseille v Stade Rennais and Paris FC v Paris Saint-Germain.
Óscar Vilda, CEO of DAZN Iberia, said the addition of Ligue 1 was “another step forward” in bringing the best of European football to fans in Spain.
The competition will be available to DAZN Football and Premium subscribers without any change to their subscription.
