Deutsche Telekom and Sky Deutschland have agreed a distribution partnership to bring the FIFA Football World Cup 2026 to hospitality venues and licensed public screenings across Germany.
Under the agreement, Telekom, which holds the German rights to all 104 matches, will make its MagentaTV World Cup coverage available via Sky’s business platform. The deal is designed to support restaurants, bars, hotels and organised fan environments, ensuring wide access to all matches throughout the tournament.
Thousands of hospitality businesses are expected to benefit from the cooperation. They will gain access to all 104 World Cup matches via three dedicated linear MagentaTV World Cup channels, which will be available at no additional cost on existing Sky receivers. This enables restaurants, bars and hotels to offer guests a complete and high-quality World Cup experience, delivered simply and reliably through their existing technical infrastructure, according to Telekom.
The telco’s TV platform MagentaTV will broadcast all 104 matches live in Germany, including 44 exclusive games. These include selected high-profile group-stage matches such as Netherlands vs Japan, France vs Senegal and Scotland vs Brazil, alongside key knockout-stage games including six round-of-16 matches, three last-16 ties, two quarter-finals and the third-place play-off. All group matches involving the Turkish national team will also be exclusive to MagentaTV.
The coverage will be complemented by conference-style broadcasts on selected matchdays and a comprehensive editorial schedule featuring analysis, interviews, press conferences and on-location reporting from stadiums, training camps and fan zones.
“All 104 matches of the FIFA World Cup 2026 will be available on MagentaTV. We want to offer fans in Germany a unique tournament experience with full live coverage, exclusive content and a strong team on and off screen. At the same time, we want to bring the atmosphere of major football tournaments beyond the home. The cooperation with Sky allows us to reach millions of people in hospitality venues and public screenings, making the World Cup a shared experience,” said Arnim Butzen, Head of TV at Deutsche Telekom.
Lars Winking, Vice President Sky Business at Sky, added: “Together with Deutsche Telekom, we are ensuring that our hospitality and hotel partners can show the FIFA World Cup 2026 easily and in full. This allows them to make the most of the tournament with strong matchday atmospheres and additional revenues.”
Sky will provide the technical infrastructure for commercial screenings and public events, including hardware, licensing support and distribution access. Event organisers will be able to apply for official FIFA licences via Sky, with approved venues receiving the necessary equipment to broadcast all matches in HD.
