Sky Deutschland restructures Sky Cinema channels

May 4, 2026 12.19 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

German pay-TV operator Sky Deutschland is restructuring it Sky Cinema portfolio with new channel names and a refreshed on‑air design, aiming to make its film offering easier to navigate.

From 19 May 2026, Sky Cinema Highlights will be renamed Sky Cinema Blockbuster, while Sky Cinema Family becomes Sky Cinema Feelgood. According to the broadcaster, the new labels more clearly reflect each channel’s editorial focus. Sky Cinema Premiere, Sky Cinema Action and Sky Cinema Classics continue unchanged.

“We are continuously developing the profile of our Sky Cinema channels. With the two new channel names, we are creating a clearer home for our content, making it even easier for viewers to find their way around. The existing channel brands also gain sharper profiles – Sky Cinema Action becomes even tougher,” said Michaela Tarantino, Vice President Cinema and Sky Store at Sky Deutschland.

A refreshed visual design will also launch across all Sky channels from 5 May. The look is aligned with Sky’s current UK brand identity and will be introduced step by step, affecting only the on‑screen presentation.

In the updated line‑up, Sky Cinema Blockbuster will focus on major Hollywood hits, franchises and award‑winning films, while Sky Cinema Feelgood will centre on comedies, romcoms, family titles, animation, romances and drama. Sky Cinema Classics continues to showcase iconic films from past decades, and Sky Cinema Action remains the destination for high‑intensity action, thrillers, crime and horror. Sky Cinema Premiere retains its role as the home of new releases and curated specials.

All five channels remain available within the Sky Cinema package and the WOW Filme & Serien subscription.
