DAZN has agreed to acquire ViewLift, in a move designed to accelerate its expansion in the US market and strengthen its proposition for sports rights holders.
The deal, announced in New York, will see ViewLift integrated into DAZN as a dedicated business unit, subject to customary closing conditions.
ViewLift provides direct-to-consumer streaming and digital services to major US sports teams and leagues, including partnerships across the NBA, NHL and MLB ecosystems, as well as regional sports networks.
DAZN said the acquisition will enable it to play a more central role in the evolving US sports distribution market, particularly as traditional regional sports models come under pressure.
The combined business will allow DAZN to expand beyond its existing direct-to-consumer model into a broader B2B2C and SaaS offering, enabling leagues and clubs to operate their own streaming services while using DAZN’s global infrastructure and reach.
Shay Segev, CEO of DAZN Group, said: “ViewLift is a superb company – a profitable sports technology business with deep relationships across the US sports ecosystem. The acquisition will enable DAZN to expand both its US presence and its platform capabilities.”
Rick Allen, CEO of ViewLift, added: “For major US pro sports teams, the combination will offer uniquely powerful future-proofing in a disrupted market… and for up-and-coming leagues and teams, we’ll provide a full suite of digital solutions.”
DAZN, which already streams more than 140,000 live events annually and operates services such as NFL Game Pass internationally, said the transaction would also enhance its global capabilities for sports, entertainment and news partners.
The move underscores DAZN’s ambition to position itself as a comprehensive technology and distribution partner for rights holders, as well as a consumer-facing streaming platform.
