Banijay Media Germany launches ShowdownTV

April 24, 2026 09.44 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Banijay Media Germany, the creative and commercial arm of Banijay Germany, has launched ShowdownTV, a new streaming platform focused on live entertainment and combat sports content.

The service, available at www.showdowntv.com, brings together a broad range of entertainment and live event formats, positioning itself as a destination for high-energy shows combining sport, spectacle and creator-driven content, expanding Banijay’s digital portfolio alongside the established comedy service www.myspass.de.

At launch, ShowdownTV features established Banijay brands such as “TV total Promi Wrestling” and “Das große Promi-Boxen”, alongside newer formats including “Nightfever”, a reality talk show hosted by Sam Dylan, and “The Ultimate Hype”, which blends boxing, MMA, kickboxing, wrestling, slap fighting and bare-knuckle boxing into a multi-discipline entertainment format.

A key launch highlight is the live pay-per-view broadcast of “RINGLIFE Combat Series 7”, taking place on Saturday from the Mülheim TV studios. The event is being produced in cooperation with Innovation Media and will be available for €12.99, including a 14-day video-on-demand window after the live stream.

The platform is designed to support integrated brand partnerships around live and fast-paced entertainment formats, with Banijay positioning ShowdownTV as a space for advertisers and sponsors to engage directly with highly active fan communities.

ShowdownTV is accessible via web browser, mobile apps for iOS and Android, and connected TV devices including Android TV, Amazon Fire TV and selected smart TV platforms. The service is currently available in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
