Fubo has unveiled a major update to its iOS and Android apps, using its own AI technology to improve the mobile streaming experience for sports fans.
The US streaming platform said the changes are designed to better serve users who follow matches on the move, adding quicker access to key moments as well as full live video.
Among the new features is live video within content carousels on the app home screen, allowing users to start watching directly from the main interface rather than selecting static programme tiles.
Fubo has also expanded its Team Channels offer, which lets users stream playlists of highlights and news related to teams they have recorded. The enhanced version adds more filters based on favourite leagues and key moments, with AI used to identify relevant clips from longer broadcasts.
The company said a portrait-mode version of Team Channels will launch in the coming weeks, using AI to focus on the most important areas of the video for a vertical mobile experience.
Fubo has also enhanced its Game Alerts feature. Pro baseball fans will now be able to receive push notifications about major moments in matches, with a single tap taking them directly to the relevant play.
Breaking news alerts have also been added, allowing users to receive text-based notifications and jump straight into live coverage.
Isaac Josephson, senior vice president of product management at Fubo, said the company had already established itself in the living room and was now focusing on mobile viewing.
He said the aim was to turn the Fubo app into a more personalised content engine for sports fans and news viewers who increasingly rely on smartphones for updates and quick access to live moments.
