Comcast Technology Solutions has signed a new multi-year agreement with Great American Media to provide managed channel origination, playout and transmission services for its US linear networks.
Under the deal, announced ahead of NAB Show 2026, Great American Media will use Comcast MediaOrigination, part of the Comcast Media360 portfolio, across channels including Great American Family East, Great American Family West and Great American Faith and Living.
The agreement will see Comcast Technology Solutions support distribution to MVPD and virtual MVPD partners across the United States, while helping the broadcaster streamline its linear operations.
Bill Abbott, president and chief executive of Great American Media, said the company was focused on ensuring its family and faith-based programming reached distribution partners and viewers nationwide with the expected reliability and quality.
Bart Spriester, senior vice president and general manager of streaming, broadcast and advertising at Comcast Technology Solutions, said broadcasters and channel operators were under pressure to run linear services more efficiently while continuing to extend distribution.
He said Comcast MediaOrigination provides managed infrastructure for channel origination, playout and transmission, simplifying linear distribution across the MVPD market.
Comcast said MediaOrigination supports the acquisition, preparation, packaging and delivery of linear channels and video content, covering areas such as channel automation, graphics, captioning, master control, encoding, encryption and rights management.
The company will present its broadcast, streaming and advertising solutions during NAB Show 2026 and at the co-located PEAK Conference in Las Vegas later this month.
