ITVX has passed 1 billion streams for 2026, hitting the milestone eight days earlier than it did in 2025 as strong sport, drama and entertainment viewing continued through March, according to ITV.
The broadcaster said streaming of the Six Nations is up 5% year on year to 14.9 million, while Britain’s Got Talent has delivered 10.1 million streams across its first five episodes, also 5% ahead of 2025 and the most-streamed run in the talent show’s history. ITV added that the launch episode has now consolidated to 6.4 million viewers, helping drive a 14% annual rise in entertainment streaming on ITVX.
Drama was another major contributor. ITV said Gone has become the most watched drama on any UK channel or streaming platform, reaching 5.5 million viewers and 23.8 million streams. The broadcaster also pointed to a strong start for the new series of Grace with 2.7 million viewers overnight, alongside 13.4 million streams for The Affair, 11.2 million for The Stolen Girl and 11.9 million for The Lady.
Soaps also continued to perform strongly on the platform, with Coronation Street and Emmerdale together generating more than 54 million streams, while ITV said viewing to the two titles is up by more than 40%. Reality viewing on ITVX was up 11% year on year, while Love Island and its international spin-offs have now delivered 2.5 billion streams in total, with TOWIE reaching 340 million.
ITV also reported a 36% increase in news and current affairs viewing on ITVX during what it described as a busy news period. Alongside the content gains, the broadcaster has rolled out a refreshed mobile search experience across platforms, with Android now added, including a new categories tab, updated search bar and visible recent searches.
The latest milestone builds on a record January for ITVX, when ITV said the service generated 383 million streams, its highest monthly total to date. ITV’s full-year results meanwhile showed ITVX delivered 3.6 billion streams in 2025, up 10% year on year, underlining how central streaming has become to the group’s Media & Entertainment strategy.
