nanocosmos targets rising stream misuse with new security solution

March 30, 2026 15.35 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

German video delivery technology provider nanocosmos has introduced nanoStream Control, a new security and monitoring layer designed to protect live interactive streams against misuse, unauthorised access and stream hijacking.

The feature set is now available worldwide as part of the company’s nanoStream platform. The platform enables ultra‑low latency video delivery for interactive and mission‑critical applications such as iGaming, live auctions, corporate communications and education.

The newly launched nanoStream Control adds a dedicated layer for access control, monitoring and analytics, addressing a growing need for operators to detect and stop issues instantly rather than after an incident has occurred.

“Real-time streaming without control is a growing risk for operators,” said Oliver Lietz, CEO of nanocosmos. “With nanoStream Control, organisations can detect, intervene and protect their streams instantly, not after damage has already occurred.”

nanoStream Control enables operators to revoke access tokens in real time, block unauthorised attempts to join a stream, and restrict embedding through referrer allow‑lists. The system also provides continuous monitoring and anomaly detection to identify suspicious behaviour as it happens. Forensic watermarking and data capture add an additional layer of content protection.

Beyond security, the new layer offers advanced analytics, including dashboards, geographic insights and client‑side performance metrics. These tools give operators deeper visibility into stream quality and user behaviour, helping them optimise both security and the viewing experience, according to the Berlin-based company.

nanoStream Control is part of the nanoStream platform, which includes nanoStream Live for ultra-low latency delivery and nanoStream Studio for AI-powered video enhancements.
