ZDF Studios launches Biene Maja & Friends and Dibidoo & Friends channels on Prime Video

March 26, 2026 09.46 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

ZDF Studios is expanding its preschool presence on Amazon Prime Video with the launch of two new add‑on channels built around some of its most recognisable children’s brands.

Biene Maja & Friends will debut in Germany and Austria, while Dibidoo & Friends – named after the English version of KiKAninchen – will launch in the United Kingdom, according to the commercial subsidiary of German public broadcaster ZDF.

The new services bring together curated selections of preschool programming for children aged two to six, offering families clearly profiled environments centred on well‑known hero brands and high‑quality content. The line‑up also includes titles from the Studio 100 International catalogue, following the expansion of the companies’ content partnership into German‑speaking markets in 2025.

“By launching Biene Maja & Friends and Dibidoo & Friends, Prime Video is introducing two highly attractive preschool add‑on channels that bring together strong brands and popular programmes from our portfolio,” said Tim Gerhartz, Chief Commercial Officer at ZDF Studios. “The selection combines programme highlights, successful brands and beloved classics to create a compelling offer for families. We are delighted that, following ZDF tivi select in German‑speaking territories and Pash in the UK, Prime Video is now introducing two further dedicated preschool services featuring ZDF Studios content.”

Biene Maja remains one of the most trusted and recognisable children’s brands in German‑speaking markets. The franchise will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2026, having first aired on ZDF on 9 September 1976.

Dibidoo & Friends offers a music‑driven preschool universe built around songs, stories and playful learning moments designed to encourage curiosity and empathy. Already established across digital and linear platforms, Dibidoo will now anchor a dedicated Prime Video channel for UK preschool audiences.

Both channels will feature a broad mix of well‑known series and characters, including Grisu, Henrietta, Pettson & Findus, Maari – Adventures on the Reef, School of Roars, Coconut – the Little Dragon, Ziggy and the Zootram, Ludovic, Dragon, Tilda Appleseed, Laura’s Star, Heidi, Törtel, Sherlock Yack – Zoo Detective and Vic the Viking. At launch, the services will offer more than 200 hours of premium preschool programming, complemented by short‑form and promotional content to support engagement and discoverability.
