Comcast Technology Solutions wins Altibox TV platform deal in Norway and Denmark

March 26, 2026 09.00 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Comcast Technology Solutions has been selected by Altibox to provide the back-end video platform for Altibox TV across Norway and Denmark.

The deployment will use CTS’s Cloud Video Platform to manage and publish Altibox TV’s on-demand channels and streaming services across set-top boxes and connected devices.

Altibox, part of Lyse AS, provides IPTV and fibre broadband services in the 2 Scandinavian markets, with its TV product offering access to films, series, sport and entertainment across set-top boxes, connected TVs and mobile devices.

The operator said the CTS platform will help centralise video and subscriber management across both legacy and newer devices, supporting greater efficiency and future service development.

Altibox TV also uses a points-based system that allows subscribers to choose and swap the channels or streaming services included in their package.

CTS said its Cloud Video Platform provides a managed service covering video ingest, metadata management, content protection, subscription and commerce tools, and playout across connected devices and apps.

Among the features being used by Altibox is the ability to treat duplicate episodes or films supplied by different content providers as a single managed asset, while retaining separate attribution.

Bart Spriester, senior vice president and general manager of streaming, broadcast and advertising at Comcast Technology Solutions, said the platform would help Altibox streamline its next-generation video operations from ingest through to distribution.

Jarle Johnsen, head of TV technology at Lyse Tele and Altibox TV, said the company had chosen CTS to support its aim of delivering a stronger entertainment experience through more capable back-end systems.

The agreement strengthens CTS’s position in the European operator market, while giving Altibox a more centralised platform for managing premium on-demand video services across Scandinavia.
