Orange has entered into exclusive negotiations with investment fund Verdoso over a possible sale of Globecast, the group’s media services business.
The French operator said the two companies had signed an exclusivity agreement covering a potential divestment of the unit, which provides content distribution and broadcast services to TV channels, rights holders and platform operators worldwide.
Globecast operates a global network of teleports and operations centres and delivers managed services across satellite, fibre and IP infrastructure. Its customers use the platform to distribute audiovisual services across satellite, OTT and streaming networks.
Orange said Globecast has evolved alongside the broadcast market over the past 24 years, from the early years of satellite television through to major live event coverage including the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the Tour de France and the G7.
The proposed sale remains subject to consultation with Orange’s employee representative bodies. Orange said completion of the transaction could take place by the end of 2026.
Verdoso, founded in 1997, specialises in acquiring majority stakes in mid-sized companies undergoing transformation. The Paris-based investment firm says it has completed more than 35 acquisitions, including carve-outs from large corporate groups.
Its more recent deals include the acquisition of digital modelling specialist Siradel from Engie in January 2026, while it has also agreed the sale of Kompass to the Expandi group after more than 10 years of ownership.
Verdoso’s current portfolio of 13 companies represents almost €600 million in combined revenue and around 2,600 employees.
