Ampere says HBO Max is bundled more often than any other streamer

March 23, 2026 11.31 Europe/London By Julian Clover

HBO Max is the most widely bundled streaming service across 20 major international markets, according to new research from Ampere Analysis.

The analyst firm said HBO Max has 60 unique distribution partners spanning pay TV operators, telcos and other streaming platforms, putting it ahead of Disney+ on 52 and Netflix on 47. Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video follow with 27 and 26 respectively.

Ampere added that HBO Max also leads on the total number of packages offered through those relationships, appearing in 303 partner bundles. Disney+ is close behind on 289, followed by Netflix with 263, Apple TV with 174 and Amazon Prime Video with 161.

The regional picture is more mixed. Disney+ has the largest bundling presence in North America, while Netflix leads in Western Europe. HBO Max is strongest in Central and South America and in Central and Eastern Europe, which Ampere said reflects the platform’s legacy distribution model in those markets.

Brazil, the United States and Poland were identified as the largest HBO Max bundling markets, with 30 different bundle partners across the three countries.

Ampere said 44% of HBO Max partnerships are structured as “hard” bundles, where the streaming service is included as a fixed component and cannot be separated from the wider package. It cited the forthcoming HBO Max inclusion in Sky Ultimate TV in the UK as one example.

Jaanika Juntson, research manager at Ampere Analysis, said the findings underline the continuing importance of operator relationships in streaming distribution.

She said partnerships with telcos, pay TV providers and other streamers are becoming increasingly important as platforms look to expand reach in saturated markets, lower subscriber acquisition costs and improve retention.

The figures are based on Ampere’s new Pricing and Bundling dataset for the streaming video market, due to launch in Q2 2026. The dataset tracks bundling relationships between streaming services, pay TV and telecom providers, as well as music and gaming platforms, across 20 markets.

The February 2026 data covers Australia, Brazil, Canada, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Türkiye, the UK and the United States.
