ZDF Digital has partnered with Dubhub to produce dubbed versions of content for its YouTube documentary channel Get.factual, starting with Spanish-language versions for Latin America.
The agreement will see the localisation studio create audio dubs for Get.factual, with the first phase focusing on translating English-language content into Latin American Spanish as part of a broader effort to expand the channel’s global reach via direct-to-consumer platforms.
The partnership combines ZDF Digital’s expertise in YouTube channel management with Dubhub’s localisation capabilities, including AI-assisted dubbing technologies aimed at scaling multilingual distribution at lower cost.
Get.factual offers documentary programming across history, science, technology and nature, with a catalogue designed to reach international audiences through digital platforms.
“Partnering with Dubhub allows us to bring Get.factual’s world-class documentary content to entirely new audiences,” said Ben Correale, Head of Channels at ZDF Digital. “By combining our YouTube channel management expertise with scalable, cost-efficient localisation, we can grow Get.factual into a truly global channel.”
Fredrik af Malmborg, CEO of Dubhub, added: “We are excited to support ZDF Digital’s approach to bringing original content into new markets through platforms such as YouTube. The potential for ZDF’s productions beyond the German language is significant.”
ZDF Digital provides technology and production services for German public broadcaster ZDF, including streaming infrastructure, post-production and digital distribution, while Dubhub operates from offices in Stockholm, Istanbul and Amsterdam, focusing on AI-assisted dubbing and channel management for international content distribution.
