Liberty Blume, the back-office services business owned by Liberty Global, has appointed Ian Larkin as chief executive officer to lead its next phase of expansion.
Larkin joins from employment solutions provider TopSource Worldwide, where he most recently served as CEO. He brings more than 25 years of experience across consultancy, financial services, technology and global operations, with previous senior roles at Lloyds Bank, Virgin Money and Trussle.
Launched by Liberty Global at the end of 2024, Liberty Blume provides outsourced back-office services spanning procurement, finance and insurance. The business sits within Liberty Growth, Liberty Global’s investment arm focused on scalable businesses across technology, media, sports, infrastructure and services.
Liberty Blume said it generated more than £100 million in revenue in 2025, with most of that coming from Liberty Global’s operating companies and joint ventures. The company employs more than 900 people across seven locations in the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands.
Larkin will take over the role from Liberty Global CFO Charlie Bracken, who has been acting CEO since the business was launched. He is due to assume the post on 13 April.
In a statement, Larkin said he had been impressed by the expertise within the business, its use of AI technologies and Liberty Global’s long-term commitment to the company.
Bracken said Liberty Blume had reached the point where it required a full-time CEO, adding that Larkin had a strong track record of scaling tech-enabled businesses, delivering transformation and building high-performing teams.
Liberty Blume said it aims to grow into a business valued at more than $1 billion by 2028.
