Sky has begun including Disney+ within its Sky TV subscription, giving customers access to the streaming service as part of their existing package.
Eligible new and existing subscribers receive Disney+ Standard with Ads, worth £5.99 (€7.00) a month, included in their Sky TV package, or the same saving if they choose to upgrade to the Standard or Premium tiers.
The move follows Sky’s February announcement of a combined streaming bundle bringing Disney+, Netflix, HBO Max and Hayu together alongside Sky TV within a single subscription and interface.
The integration means Disney+ content now appears across Sky Glass, Sky Stream and Sky Q devices. Programmes and films from the service are incorporated into Sky’s search, voice control and “Continue Watching” features for the first time.
Customers can access the service using the voice command “Get Disney+” or by linking their existing subscription through Sky. Those with an existing Disney+ account can migrate their current plan to Sky and retain their profiles and viewing history while receiving the £5.99 (€7.00) monthly saving.
The addition brings a wide range of titles into the Sky environment, including series such as Rivals, Paradise and FX’s The Bear, alongside films including Zootropolis 2 and Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Animated titles including Moana 2 and Frozen are also available.
For Sky Cinema subscribers, Sky is launching a dedicated Disney+ Cinema channel on EPG slot 305. The channel will feature around 50 films at launch drawn from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars titles, with new movies added weekly. Early titles include Iron Man, Deadpool and Wolverine, Death on the Nile, Alien: Romulus, Finding Nemo and Up.
A selection of Disney+ programming will also air on Sky’s linear channels, including Andor, The Bear and the documentary series Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story, appearing across Sky Atlantic, Sky One and Sky Witness.
Disney+ content is integrated into Sky OS on Sky Glass and Sky Stream devices, allowing shows to be added to playlists and surfaced in personalised recommendations alongside content from apps including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV.
Sky has also confirmed that HBO Max Basic with Ads will be included for Sky TV customers from 26 March, with Hayu set to follow in July.
