O2 launches campaign for satellite-to-mobile service

March 16, 2026 12.44 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Virgin Media O2 has unveiled a new integrated marketing campaign to support the launch of O2 Satellite, its new satellite-to-mobile service.

The operator said the campaign, developed with creative agency VCCP, is designed to highlight O2’s move into satellite-powered mobile data services, which it describes as a European first.

At the centre of the campaign is a 40-second film titled O2. Now in space, set to Glue by Bicep. The advert opens in space before moving to a remote rural location, where a man receives the news that he has become a grandfather, underlining the role of O2 Satellite in extending connectivity into harder-to-reach areas.

The film was produced by VCCP’s content studio Girl&Bear, with post-production by Time Based Arts.

The campaign also includes out-of-home advertising across the UK, featuring satellite imagery of Earth and the strapline O2. Now in space. Additional placements are being used on transport routes to remote parts of the country, including the Peak District, with localised messaging.

O2 has also partnered with YouTube group The Sidemen on a Hide & Seek episode filmed in a remote location to demonstrate the service’s coverage. Social media activity is also being supported through VCCP Social Club and creator partnerships focused on practical use cases for O2 Satellite.

Rachel Swift, Brand and Advertising Director at Virgin Media O2, said O2 Satellite reflected the operator’s Essential For Living brand platform and showed how the company supports customers in important moments.

David Masterman, Executive Creative Director at VCCP, said the campaign reinforced O2’s long-standing message of being available when it matters.

The campaign is running nationwide across TV, BVOD, SVOD, online video, out-of-home, social media, radio and O2’s owned retail and online channels.

Virgin Media O2 said the new service builds on its network coverage credentials, with the company citing Uswitch recognition in both 2025 and 2026.
