The Board of Directors of SRG SSR has appointed Roger Elsener as Director of SRF, the Swiss public broadcaster’s affiliate serving the German-speaking part of the country, and named Nicolas Pernet Director Offer and Moritz Stadler Director Operations.
All three will join the SRG Executive Board. The appointments, confirmed by the SRG Board on 10 March 2026, form part of the broadcaster’s ongoing “Enavant SRG SSR” transformation project launched at the end of 2024, aimed at creating a more digital, streamlined and agile organisation with stronger collaboration across Switzerland’s language regions.
Elsener will take over as Director of SRF on 1 May 2026, succeeding Nathalie Wappler, who announced her resignation last year. The 47-year-old is currently CEO of Swiss TV streaming provider Zattoo and previously held senior roles at CH Media, including CEO of CH Media TV, a joint venture between CH Media and Sunrise. Earlier in his career, he worked in management positions at AZ Medien, the 3+ Group and Viacom International Media Networks, overseeing brands including MTV, Viva and Nickelodeon.
According to SRG, Elsener will focus on further developing SRF’s editorial offering, accelerating digital transformation and strengthening content for younger audiences.
“Roger Elsener is an experienced media manager and digital expert who will consistently continue SRF’s digital transformation. He combines strategic media expertise, innovative strength and a deep understanding of the Swiss and international media market,” said Susanne Wille, Director General of SRG.
Nicolas Pernet, currently Director of Radiotelevisiun Svizra Rumantscha and Deputy Director General of SRG, will assume the newly created role of Director Offer on 1 April 2026. The division will oversee the group’s content strategy, including the Play+ streaming platform as well as SRG-wide units for fiction and sport.
Wille said: “Nicolas Pernet has many years of experience at the interface between media content and distribution. He brings ideal qualifications to further develop SRG’s offering strategy with a clear focus on audience needs.”
Moritz Stadler will also take up his position as Director Operations on 1 April. The new unit will combine production and technology across the organisation. Stadler has led the operations stream of the Enavant project since mid-2025 and previously served as Head of Operations at Radio Télévision Suisse. He was also Co-Executive Producer of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 and earlier worked at European Broadcasting Union (EBU) subsidiary Eurovision Services.
Jean-Michel Cina, Chairman of the SRG Board of Directors, said: “We are delighted to have secured three experienced leaders for these key functions. They will make an important contribution to SRG’s transformation while ensuring the organisation continues to fulfil its public service mandate at the highest quality.”
