Czech broadcaster Prima Group has appointed Jan Wykrytowicz as its director of VOD and commercial services, effective April 1.
In the newly created role, Wykrytowicz will oversee the development of the company’s prima+ streaming platform and lead efforts to expand subscription services, digital products and strategic partnerships.
He will also be responsible for developing new business models and identifying additional distribution opportunities for Prima’s digital content as the broadcaster looks to accelerate growth beyond traditional advertising revenues.
Lukáš Kubát, CEO of Prima Group, said Wykrytowicz brings extensive OTT experience to the company.
“I see Jan Wykrytowicz as one of the greatest experts in OTT services in our region. I have followed his professional career at TVN and Go3 for a long time and I am very happy that he will now strengthen our team.
“Our goal is to build prima+ into the best OTT service on the market. Jan’s experience with paid services, sports and strategic partnerships is exactly what we need for the further development of the group. I am very much looking forward to our cooperation, which will help us accelerate the growth of non-advertising revenues.”
Wykrytowicz said he was looking forward to joining the Czech broadcaster and supporting its direct-to-consumer ambitions.
“I am very grateful for the opportunity to join Prima Group and work with one of the strongest media teams on the Czech market. I look forward to contributing to further accelerating growth in the B2C area.”
Wykrytowicz has more than 15 years’ experience in the media and streaming sector. His career has included senior roles at Canal+ and TVN in Poland and at TV3 Group in the Baltics.
Most recently he served as CEO of Go3, where he led the pan-Baltic OTT platform and helped establish it as a leading subscription streaming service in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. During his tenure the service built partnerships with global content providers including Warner Bros. Discovery, Netflix and Paramount, while also securing premium sports rights collaborations with organisations such as UEFA, FIFA, the English Premier League, NBA, NHL, Formula 1 and Euroleague.
