Synamedia and Asport team up for Games of the Future live streaming

March 5, 2026 12.56 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Synamedia has partnered with Swiss sports technology specialist Asport to deliver global live streaming for the Games of the Future Abu Dhabi, a hybrid “phygital” sports event combining physical competitions, esports and digital games.

The event, held in December 2025, featured 850 athletes from 60 countries. Asport used Synamedia’s Quortex SaaS platform to support live distribution, deploying Quortex Link to deliver streams to multiple platforms and endpoints including YouTube and Twitch, alongside Quortex Play for viewer streaming.

Asport said it selected Quortex for its self-service, API-driven approach and configurable workflows, enabling it to run consumer streaming alongside B2B distribution to rights holders. Synamedia said the platform also supported frame-rate adaptation and content normalisation, using just-in-time processing to handle a mix of mobile and esports-style production workflows, without requiring always-on infrastructure through a pay-as-you-use model.

Over the 10-day event, Quortex supported up to 11 simultaneous disciplines per day, managed 33 concurrent ingest streams and distributed content in 13 languages. Asport oversaw more than 200 live streams on tv.gofuture.games as well as on YouTube, Twitch, media partners and independent content creators.

Rainer Roesslhuber, CEO of SportPass Medien GmbH, said the event required a platform able to scale internationally and adapt to diverse technical requirements, with only days available for testing. Synamedia’s Edward Allfrey, EVP and General Manager of Video Network, said the project demonstrated Quortex’s ability to support complex niche events as well as major international tournaments, and signalled further collaboration with Asport.
