wedotv and ProOxy take Ultimate Hockey global

March 4, 2026 10.32 Europe/London By Broadband TV News Correspondent

Free ad-supported streaming network wedotv and sports group ProOxy have entered a strategic partnership to take the new 3‑on‑3 ice hockey discipline Ultimate Hockey to international audiences, with the first major tour stop scheduled for April 2026.

According to the Swiss companies, wedotv will distribute Ultimate Hockey worldwide across its free, ad‑supported linear sports channels and streaming platform. The aim is to position the compact, high‑intensity 3×3 format as a modern complement to traditional ice hockey, tailored to younger and digitally oriented viewers.

The format is played on a smaller surface with two 12‑minute periods of effective playing time, designed to deliver continuous action and quick decision‑making.

The international expansion will begin with the Ultimate Hockey – Breaking the Ice Tour from 10-12 April 2026 in Innsbruck, Austria. Events will be staged in prominent urban locations, transforming public spaces into temporary hockey arenas intended to blend sport and urban culture.

“With Ultimate Hockey, we are not only launching an exciting new sports property, we are also redefining how and where ice hockey can be experienced,” said Philipp Rotermund, CEO and Co‑Founder of wedotv, adding that the partnership ensures global, free‑to‑watch access across both linear and streaming platforms.

Andreas Goebel, CCO of ProOxy, added: “Starting with the Breaking the Ice Tour in Innsbruck, this partnership marks an important milestone in building Ultimate Hockey into a truly global and modern hockey movement.”

The companies also highlighted the advertising potential of the collaboration. With wedotv’s global footprint across free, ad‑supported channels, brands will be able to reach younger, sports‑enthusiastic audiences through immersive “sportainment” formats.
