Peter Kail becomes new CEO of Canal+ Austria

March 3, 2026 17.02 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Pay-TV broadcaster Canal+ Österreich has appointed Peter Kail as CEO, tasking the Vienna-born executive with driving growth and strategic development in the Austrian market.

Kail brings longstanding experience in marketing, sales and corporate management. He joined Eviso Austria in 2013 as Director of Acquisition & Retention Marketing and was promoted to Managing Director in 2015. In 2021, he moved to Canal+ International in Paris as Director of Telecom Partnerships.

“Peter Kail has extensive knowledge of the Austrian market and brings broad experience in marketing, sales and leadership. His expertise in distribution partnerships will also make a valuable contribution to strengthening our reach. I look forward to further expanding our Austria business together,” said Yassine Bouzoubaa, CEO of Canal+ Benelux & Central Europe. “I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Martijn van Hout for his 22 years of service at Canal+ and wish him all the best in his new endeavours.”

With the appointment, the Canal+ aims to further strengthen its market position in Austria, expand strategic partnerships and accelerate growth in a competitive media environment.

“I am very pleased to take on this new role at Canal+ Österreich,” said Kail. “Our goal is to further enhance the viewer experience, deliver innovative content and sustainably expand Canal+’s strong position in the Austrian market. Whether major football nights, international golf highlights or award-winning series and films, Canal+ delivers the moments people talk about. We will continue to consolidate our position as a premium provider and offer our customers an entertainment experience that inspires and connects.”
