Redge Technologies launches live-first OTT platform for Monaco Telecom

February 20, 2026 11.03 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Redge Technologies has deployed a next-generation OTT service for Monaco Telecom, built on its Redge Media platform and designed around a live-first viewing model with end-to-end operational responsibility.

The incumbent operator said the new MonacoTelecomTV platform targets a market with premium service expectations and an unusual device mix, with Apple TV accounting for more than 90% of connected TV devices. The service also supports iOS, Android, Android TV (including operator set-top boxes) and web, reflecting what Redge described as a local environment that does not rely on traditional smart TV ecosystems.

The implementation combines Redge Media’s Service Delivery Platform, deployed in Monaco Telecom’s cloud as a private cloud based on OpenStack and Kubernetes, with Redge’s Video Delivery Platform running on shared infrastructure in a new Paris region. Redge said it has expanded its European VDP footprint by establishing a dedicated hub in Paris to handle ingest, transcoding, packaging and distribution.

As part of the contract, Redge assumed responsibility for signal acquisition from broadcasters and the transcoding of more than 210 live channels. The service features low-latency channel zapping, a horizontal EPG with vertical channel navigation, extended EPG with start-over beyond the standard timeshift window, catch-up TV and network DVR with long-term cloud storage. It also integrates with Monaco Telecom’s SSO, including a login wall, multilingual support, recently watched live channels and structured upsell capability.

For Android TV-based set-top boxes, Redge developed a custom launcher that auto-starts the TV app and tunes to a live channel on device activation, aiming to replicate broadcast-style “instant TV” behaviour.

Redge said the project included a full migration from the previous OTT provider, transferring users, subscriber data, archived assets and cloud DVR recordings without data loss or service disruption.

Monaco Telecom CEO Martin Péronnet said “the fluidity of the experience” and reliability were paramount, adding the operator launched the new platform “in a record time” and will continue improving the service across devices.

Monaco Telecom is co-owned by the Monegasque Government and NJJ Holding, the investment vehicle of Iliad founder Xavier Niel. Redge Technologies is part of the Play Group and supplies OTT and edge computing solutions across CEE.
