Bouygues Telecom has added classical music channel Allegro Spatial to its TV line-up in France, carrying the service in native 4K UHD at 50fps with Dolby Atmos immersive audio.
The operator said the launch underlines the quality of its TV platform by combining UHD video and Dolby Atmos sound on a single linear channel.
Allegro Spatial is positioned as a premium service dedicated to classical music, covering concerts, ballets and operas, alongside programming designed to provide context around works, composers and interpretations.
Eurochannel Group said the channel aims to support the wider filmed classical music ecosystem by encouraging more productions and mixes conceived natively in Dolby Atmos, helping drive new immersive production practices.
Allegro Spatial is available to Bouygues Telecom customers on channel 164.
Marc Laurier, marketing director at Bouygues Telecom, said the addition expands a line-up of more than 200 channels and targets viewers looking for “outstanding programming under exceptional conditions”.
Anaïs Libolt, director, content & services Europe at Dolby, said the channel demonstrates how Dolby Atmos can enhance at-home listening while staying faithful to the original recordings and performers’ artistic intent.
Allegro Spatial founder Gustavo Vainstein said the project follows several years of R&D in collaboration with a sound engineer and Dolby, with the goal of recreating the space and emotion of a concert at home.
