Eutelsat has renewed multiple capacity agreements with Egypt-based media services provider Viewsat, extending a long-running partnership focused on supporting broadcasters in Egypt and the wider Middle East and North Africa region.
The renewed deals centre on Eutelsat’s 7/8° West video hotspot, with the companies continuing to provide broadcast services tailored to the requirements of Egyptian channels.
Eutelsat said the agreements reinforce its position in Egypt, describing the country as one of the most dynamic broadcast markets in MENA and a key part of its regional video strategy.
Viewsat is part of the ViewMedia group and provides content distribution and delivery services across platforms, including managed playout, online streaming and satellite broadcasting.
Eutelsat said the 7/8° West video neighbourhood is the leading broadcast position in MENA, reaching 66 million satellite TV homes and carrying more than 950 channels.
Raymond E. Rahm, RVP MENA Sales in Eutelsat’s Video Business Unit, said the renewals underline the strength of the long-term partnership and a shared focus on sustainable growth and market development across Egypt and the region.
Viewsat CEO Awaes Jaswal said the renewed capacity agreements across satellites serving East and MENA beams reflect the strength of the relationship and Viewsat’s continued focus on Egypt as a key market.
