Affirm has struck a partnership with Virgin Media O2 to offer pay-over-time financing for devices bought through O2, adding a new payment option alongside the operator’s existing Pay Monthly handset bundles and SIM-only plans.
Under the deal, Affirm will provide instalment plans for smartphones and other hardware including headphones and games consoles. At checkout, approved customers will be shown repayment options with the total cost set out upfront.
Virgin Media O2 said the arrangement also gives it optionality to expand further into the SIM-free device market.
Flexible payment plans are expected to go live for customers later this summer, subject to regulatory approval. Affirm is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
