Vodafone’s latest trading update shows its German TV base slipped again in Q3 FY26, with the operator reporting a net decline of 6,000 TV customers in the quarter (following a 62,000 increase in Q2).
Vodafone said the structural fall in standalone linear TV demand continues, partly offset by its push to bundle basic TV with broadband.
The group has previously pointed to the same bundling strategy as a key driver behind TV growth earlier in the financial year, including a 90,000 increase in TV customers in Q2 FY26 (after gains in Q1 and Q2). Broadband ARPU from new customers in the quarter was also the highest in three years.
Vodafone Deutschland has been grappling with a law change giving tenants in Multiple Dwelling Units (MDUs) the right to choose their own TV and broadband providers.
Outside of Germany, Vodafone’s update is light on TV metrics, but the UK operation continues to enjoy fixed-line momentum following the VodafoneThree merger. Vodafone said it added 64,000 broadband customers in Q3 and can now serve 22 million households with gigabit speeds, alongside 11,000 fixed wireless access customer additions in the quarter (reported in mobile).
