Ruckus Networks has expanded its Pro AV ICX switch portfolio and rolled out an AV-focused update to its management platforms, targeting the shift from legacy video transport to Ethernet-based AV-over-IP deployments.
The new Pro AV ICX switches are AV-optimised and pre-configured out of the box. Ruckus says this reduces the setup effort and speed deployments and scaling of AV networks.
The expanded ICX range can be managed via Ruckus One, SmartZone or in standalone mode, supporting deployments across sectors including hospitality and education, according to the company.
Ruckus also confirmed interoperability with Crestron’s DM NVX as part of a new partnership, while joining the SDVoE Alliance (Standard Platform AV over IP) as an adopting member.
Ruckus President Bart Giordano said the expanded Pro AV portfolio is designed to make AV networking “simpler and easier to deploy”, while Crestron’s Bob Bavolacco added the relationship is built on testing to ensure end clients get the best distribution performance.
Ruckus is part of Vistance Networks, which recently rebranded following CommScope’s divestiture of its Connectivity and Cable Solutions business, leaving Vistance as the parent company for Ruckus Networks and other network-focused units.
