The Walt Disney Company has named Josh D’Amaro as its next Chief Executive Officer, ahead of the company’s Annual Meeting of Shareholders on 18 March 2026.
He will succeed Bon Iger, who will transition to Senior Advisor and remain on Disney’s board until 31 December 2026, according to the company.
D’Amaro has been with the House of Mouse for 28 years and currently runs Disney Experiences, described by Disney as its largest business segment, generating $36 billion (about €30.5 billion) in revenue in FY2025 and employing around 185,000 people worldwide.
Alongside the CEO succession, Dana Walden has been appointed President and Chief Creative Officer, effective 18 March 2026, in a newly created enterprise-wide role. Walden currently serves as co-chair of Disney Entertainment, which includes Disney’s streaming businesses.
Disney board chair James Gorman said D’Amaro was selected unanimously following the board’s search process, with Disney also planning to appoint him as a director after the annual meeting.
