Kathrein Broadcast has formally exited insolvency after the Rosenheim District Court lifted proceedings at the start of the year, clearing the way for a management restart led by Dr Hans Liebler and Jörg Lippert.
With the conclusion of the process, the restructuring of the German broadcast antenna manufacturer has been completed and its long-term continuation secured. Lenbach Capital agreed the acquisition of Kathrein Broadcast with the insolvency administrator in August 2025 and said in December that it also intends to acquire Kathrein Solutions, a move that would broaden the industrial base of the group.
“The restart of Kathrein Broadcast sends a strong signal. We see a company with a deep-rooted engineering expertise. Our goal is to ensure long-term stability and sustainable growth,” said Liebler. Lippert added: “Our customers repeatedly confirm that reliable antenna technology and local value creation are more important than ever.”
Kathrein Broadcast now operates as an independent, financially sound company with a strategic focus on broadcast, air traffic control and antenna systems made in Germany. It is one of the last European suppliers combining in-house development and manufacturing, specialising in systems designed to perform under extreme weather and site conditions.
The company enters 2026 after completing several projects, including the modernisation of the Hamburg-Moorfleet transmission tower for public broadcaster NDR, alongside new FM retrofit solutions, low-power DAB developments and a number of international partnerships.
Founded in 1954 and rooted in the wider Kathrein group established in Rosenheim in 1919, Kathrein Broadcast supplies professional antenna systems for FM, TV, DAB+ and digital TV broadcasting to customers worldwide.
