Polsat Plus Group and Eutelsat have renewed their long-running distribution partnership with a new multi-year, multi-transponder contract on the Hotbird video neighbourhood at 13 degrees East, continuing carriage for Polsat Box and TV Polsat.
The agreement extends a collaboration that dates back to 1992 and secures additional satellite capacity to support Polsat Box, which the group describes as Poland’s largest pay-TV platform, alongside the country’s leading commercial broadcaster.
Eutelsat said the Hotbird fleet reaches more than 130 million homes in Europe and feeds content into 90% of cable, IPTV and DTT networks, with the additional transponders providing headroom for service expansion while maintaining picture quality and reliability.
Jacek Felczykowski, management board member at Cyfrowy Polsat responsible for technology and network, said the group will continue to leverage Hotbird’s coverage and in-orbit security as it develops stronger IPTV and OTT pay-TV offers alongside satellite distribution.
Aymeric Genty, president of Eutelsat’s Video Business Unit, added the renewal underlines Hotbird’s role as a key European broadcast hub, and positions Eutelsat to support Polsat Plus Group as it evolves its offer.
