One Hungary unifies Linux and Android set-top experiences with 3SS 3Ready and Sagemcom

January 28, 2026 11.56 Europe/London By Julian Clover

One Hungary has launched two new Android TV set-top boxes for its OneTV entertainment service, extending its next-generation user experience across both legacy Linux and new Android devices through 3 Screen Solutions’ 3Ready platform.

The deployment, delivered in collaboration with Sagemcom and Nagravision, introduces a bespoke OneTV UI/UX built on 3SS’s 3Ready product platform, with enhanced navigation, personalised recommendations and simplified content discovery. Development began in January 2025, with the service going live at the end of October.

One Hungary’s Android portfolio comprises two Sagemcom devices: the SoundBox and the MiniBox Pro. The SoundBox is part of Sagemcom’s Video Soundbox (VSB) line, combining a set-top box with an integrated sound system. The supplier describes it as the world’s first Dolby Atmos-certified 4K set-top box, featuring Audio by Bang & Olufsen, and capable of operating as a smart speaker even when the TV is switched off. The MiniBox Pro runs Android TV 14 and targets OTT viewing with Google Cast, Wi-Fi 6 and far-field microphones.

The operator said accessibility is a key focus, with improved services for viewers with visual impairments including fast access to a screen reader, talkback functionality and easy text scaling.

Sagemcom and 3SS oversaw integration and certification of premium third-party services, including Netflix, while RTL+ Premium and HBO Max are deep-linked to enable users to find content from multiple providers via a centralised interface.

“We congratulate One Hungary for the launch of OneTV, now delivering a state-of-the-art user experience on the new Sagemcom Android STBs,” said Olivier Taravel, Senior Executive VP – Audio Video Solutions Business Unit at Sagemcom. “We are extremely honored that One Hungary continues to rely on Sagemcom to deliver its exciting next-generation service, elevating entertainment UX for Hungarian consumers.”

“One Hungary has already set a high bar in terms of innovation and commitment to providing quality and choice to customers,” commented Kai-Christian Borchers, Managing Director of 3SS. “We’re extremely proud that the capability and flexibility of 3Ready are helping One Hungary to deliver engaging, personalised, and seamless next-gen services. The smooth and successful launch of two new devices for OneTV customers evidences the power of collaboration; now more OneTV subscribers, present and future, will be able to enjoy first-class entertainment experiences underpinned by state-of-the-art technology.”

The Android rollout follows the earlier OneTV rebrand and platform refresh, which saw more than 400,000 subscribers with Linux set-top boxes migrated to the new OneTV platform without replacing hardware.

“Recent NPS results highlight that OneTV is moving in the right direction, with new customers in particular giving very positive feedback. We are proud that this success goes hand in hand with our commitment to sustainability, as OneTV was deployed to over 400,000 customers without the need for hardware replacement,” commented Tamás Bányai, CEO of One Hungary.

The project builds on 4iG’s wider transformation programme, including the September 2023 appointment of Nagravision and 3SS to support the migration and deployment of OpenTV and 3Ready for a feature-rich multi-device TV service across cable, IPTV and OTT.
