Sky plans major Livingston campus redevelopment supporting 3,000 jobs

January 26, 2026 12.24 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Sky has confirmed plans for a major investment in its Livingston campus, submitting a full planning application for a new state-of-the-art office development in West Lothian.

The project underlines Sky’s long-term commitment to Scotland and is expected to support around 3,000 jobs, while contributing to regional economic growth. The redevelopment would see the site expanded by a further 15 acres, creating a campus of more than 21,000m2.

Under the proposals, a new ultra-low-energy, three-storey building would replace four existing buildings at Sky’s Kirkton Campus, as well as leased space at the nearby Alba Campus. The consolidated site is intended to provide a modern and flexible working environment for Sky staff.

Sustainability is a central feature of the plans. The new building would be powered by renewable energy, including onsite solar panels, and designed to minimise energy use. Sky says the development will set a benchmark for sustainable office design in the region.

The campus would include new event spaces, a dedicated meeting centre, café and restaurant, alongside activity-based workspaces. Existing facilities, including the gym, are set to be upgraded, while the wider site would benefit from extensive landscaping.

Dana Strong, Sky Group CEO, said: “Livingston has been home to Sky’s leading customer service operation for more than three decades, and this investment demonstrates our long-term commitment to the region and confidence in Scotland’s pivotal role in the UK economy. The campus development will support thousands of jobs and create opportunities for local businesses. Designed with sustainability in mind, it will set a benchmark for innovation and regional growth.”

The company added the development will also bring wider community benefits, including new landscaped green spaces and improved active travel links. Sky has committed to using local supply chains where possible, creating opportunities for SMEs to be involved in both the construction phase and the long-term operation of the campus.

The Livingston investment follows planning approval granted in late 2025 for the expansion of Sky Studios Elstree in Hertfordshire. That project will add 10 new sound stages and is expected to create more than 2,000 jobs, while attracting £2bn (€2.34bn) of production investment to the UK within its first 5 years of operation.

Subject to planning approval, Sky expects a decision on the Livingston application in summer 2026, following its submission in January.
