Telekom Srbija has joined the Audiovisual Anti-Piracy Alliance (AAPA), a move the group says will strengthen cross-border coordination and enforcement efforts across South-East Europe.
Announcing the new member in Brussels, AAPA said Telekom Srbija brings “critical regional intelligence” and hands-on experience tackling organised piracy networks that undermine investment and revenues across Europe’s creative industries. The operator runs a portfolio spanning pay TV channels, digital platforms and streaming services across the Western Balkans.
Miruna Herovanu, executive director of AAPA, said Telekom Srbija’s “practical expertise, technical capability, and strong regional presence” would add weight to the alliance’s work, describing the Western Balkans as a priority area for enforcement.
Telekom Srbija CEO Vladimir Lučić said piracy is not only an economic issue but also “a security and consumer-protection challenge” that requires coordinated action across borders. He added that joining AAPA would strengthen the operator’s ability to work with broadcasters, rights holders and enforcement bodies to disrupt illegal networks and protect premium content.
AAPA said piracy continues to evolve in both scale and sophistication, and that bringing Telekom Srbija into the alliance should improve its ability to respond with greater speed and operational precision in the region.
