Studio 100 International is set to launch a new family-focused channel, Maya the Bee & Friends, on Amazon Prime Video in Germany and Austria in spring 2026.
The channel, locally called Die Biene Maja & Friends, will offer a dedicated streaming destination for children’s and family programming built around well-known, multi-generational animation brands.
The launch coincides with the 50th anniversary of Maya the Bee on German television. The channel will be available as a paid subscription within the Prime Video platform in both territories.
At launch, the channel’s line-up will be anchored by content from Studio 100 International’s own catalogue. This includes a special celebrating the classic 2D Maya the Bee series, alongside newer CGI adaptations of Maya the Bee, Heidi and Vicky the Viking.
The offering will be complemented by licensed content from ZDF Studios, which is providing additional titles from its children’s catalogue. These include established favourites such as Grisu – The Little Dragon, Laura’s Star, Insectibles and Simon Super Rabbit, broadening the channel beyond a single franchise.
According to the companies, Maya the Bee & Friends is designed to bundle strong, cross-generational brands in a clearly positioned environment, targeting families and younger audiences via one of the region’s largest streaming platforms.
